HOAGY CARMICHAEL – Ole Buttermilk Sky/Buttermilk Pie.

1946 The song “Ole Buttermilk Sky” was written by Hoagy Carmichael with Jack Brooks,
first recorded 1946 by Hoagy Carmichael and his Orchestra.   Carmichael introduced
the song himself in the Western, “Canyon Passage” released 1946, Carmichael
posing as a Cowboy, singing to impress a woman.   It was nominated for an Oscar.
“Ole Buttermilk Sky I am keeping my Eye Peeled on You
What’s the Good Word Tonight?
Are You Gonna Be Mellow Tonight?
Ole Butterrmilk Sky.”

Buttermilk Sky = rippling pattern in clouds.
